We’ve always thought of the month of November as a time to reflect on what fills us with gratitude. There has been much to be thankful for, beginning with what was one of the most vibrant and lingering Autumns we can remember. It was impossible to walk the streets of Denver without stopping to appreciate the colors, reflecting light and sounds of the season.
As we approach Thanksgiving this year, we will embrace the need to educate our kids about the history of how we came to be on this land that once belonged to the Arapaho, Cheyenne and Ute tribes. We will focus on what we are thankful for, what we take for granted and what we can do to continue to be better stewards to our environment and neighbors. And, as our neighbors, we hope you know how much we appreciate your continued support and efforts to support local.
In this issue we highlight the beautifully curated shop, CLP, the music of local band The Centennial and finally the progressive work happening at the Girls Athletic Leadership Schools of Denver. As always, thank you for reading local and we wish you a very happy November.
