We hope that everyone in our Wash Park community is doing well and thriving!  It feels like the world has taken a long, deep breath and has started getting out again.  Kitchens on Broadway has certainly felt that and more.  Our business has been growing and changing and we felt like now was a great time to reconnect.  We’ve been working with customers on jobs large and small in the last two years and we have some things to share.

Plan early and allow enough time…more time than you think you need.

I think that everyone has had time to think about their lives and their homes and how they might do things differently.  Sometimes that involves addressing a small feature, but more often it’s a global change.  Now more than ever, the scale of a project does affect the timing and, more importantly, usually the process.  We have been much more focused on how supply chain issues will impact progress and consequently have been working with our clients to make sure that we take that into account when designing and scheduling their project.  This inevitably takes more long-term planning, and we’ve enjoyed the additional time to get to know you better and design more distinctive projects.  

There are some great new products out there!  Let’s all learn something new!

While the last 24 months have seen some loss in the business landscape, it also has opened some great avenues for creativity and introduced us to new vendors and artisans in our own backyard.  Denver, particularly, has become a great city for art and artists in general, but for us in design it’s been especially great, and we’ve got exciting new tools in our toolbox: a local wood countertop craftsman, an amazing new concrete company for sinks and countertops, a wallpaper vendor who is now known across the country, a designer and seamstress who is using discarded fabric samples to make amazing pillows and cushions (see below for links to our faves)… We love sharing these new ideas and working them into projects! 

Expect delays and PLAN for them (yes, this bears repeating!)

Construction, in the best of times, is an imperfect art form.  Currently, it does have a few more blemishes.  We’ve always established and maintained great relationships with our construction partners and vendors.  This has given us the flexibility to pivot (Sorry, but it works here!) when we need flexibility to keep things moving forward on jobs.  Communication has been the key for us and because we’ve been open and honest with our partners, we’ve been navigating these difficulties.  Along with grace and kindness from you – our valued clients – the bumps have been shallow.

We are expanding our showroom

Our amazing and weird building on S Broadway was just screaming for a bigger presence on our great street.  While we’ve appreciated everyone’s patience with our side entrance, we really feel like you should be able to enter our showroom from the front door.  Our colorful window decals are providing some great noticeability, but our new displays will knock your socks off.  We have great plans to show you more possibilities and the amazing stuff we do every day.  Stop by for a peek and we’ll fill you in on the details and give you a tour of some of the changes we’ve already completed – and make you a coffee!
