“He loved October. Had always loved it. There was something sad and beautiful about it – the ending and beginning of things.”

– Jacqueline Woodson

The ending and beginning of things…this is pretty spot on, right? These little changes are coming up on us quickly over here. But I think we’re all accustomed to the rapid passing of time. That said, we are entering our very favorite season. And from the looks of it, we’re not alone, literally everyone loves Fall right? The reflection of the red, yellow and orange dressed trees in the lake at Wash Park, cozy

sweaters, soup for dinner every other night (sorry, kids), pumpkin carving…all that good stuff. Not only is it spooky season, but we’re nearing an election. In case you forgot. This brings us back to the ending and beginning of things. We are excited to use our privilege to vote for our future generations, for our planet, for our LGBTQ family and so many other ridiculously important reasons. So let’s raise a glass of whiskey, or tea, or pumpkin spice latte and toast to our democracy!
