REFRESH, RESTORE AND RENEW YOUR BODY

BY SHALEEN DESTEFANO

You’ve probably noticed the new kid in town, iV Nutrition, as they’ve taken over the old Bang Salon space at Alameda and Downing. We had the absolute pleasure of sitting down with owners, Mindy and Terrill to learn more about their vast array of services and overall mission.

iV Nutrition of Wash Park is much more than a resource for hydration. Can you tell us about your vast array of drips, injections and medical services?

We are happy to help those who have hangovers (and do), but they’re not our main clientele. At iV Nutrition of Wash Park, our 3 main areas of service are Intramuscular Injections, iV Drips, and Blood Wellness Consultations.

We offer three types of intramuscular injections, four types of iV Nutritional Drips, and lastly we offer Wellness Blood Testing and Consultations that allow us to evaluate and analyze various levels in your body, including inflammation, hormone, liver function, immune health, nutrient deficiencies and more. Each wellness panel comes with a full analysis and consultation with one of our Clinician Directors.

Our bodies become depleted and are drained of vital nutrients and energy due to stress, injury, workout, chronic health infections, chemical toxicities, the list goes on and on. What are some warning signs that might indicate a need for replenishment and how often do you recommend iV treatment?

In terms of warning signs that might indicate a need for replenishment, there are several things to look out for. These can include:

    • Chronic fatigue or low energy levels

    • Difficulty concentrating or brain fog

    • Decreased immune function, frequent illnesses or infections

    • Inflammation and joint pain

    • Digestive issues such as bloating, constipation, or diarrhea

    • Poor skin health or acne

    • Hair loss or brittle nails

    • Insomnia or other sleep disturbances

The frequency of IV treatment depends on the specific condition, the severity of symptoms, underlying health conditions, and an individual’s response to the treatment.

We live in a time where most people desire instant results. Do these iV treatments offer immediate healing?

iV treatments can provide relatively quick relief and can help to replenish nutrients in the body more rapidly than other forms of supplementation since the nutrients are delivered directly into the bloodstream. The benefits of IV treatments can vary depending on the individual and the specific treatment being administered. For example, an IV treatment for dehydration or nutrient deficiency may provide relatively quick relief from symptoms such as fatigue, headache and muscle weakness, whereas IV treatments for conditions such as chronic health challenges or inflammation may take longer to show results and may require multiple sessions over time. While IV treatments do provide a beneficial boost for individuals, IV nutritional therapy, in combination with a healthy diet, regular exercise, and other healthy lifestyle choices will promote optimal health and well-being over the long-term.

Can you tell us a bit about your background and what inspired you both to open this franchise?

My husband and business partner, Terrill served six years in the US Air Force as a B-52 crew chief mechanic at Barksdale AFB, Louisiana. In 1999, he graduated from Colorado Aero Technical University and received his Airframe & Power Plant certification. He decided to move to Colorado to be with me, and started working at Frontier Airlines. After six years with Frontier, he opened up CRiSP Property Inspections, LLC. He ran and operated CRiSP Home Inspections for over 13 years.

I had a 12-year career in the mortgage industry, until the mortgage meltdown hit in ‘08. Then I decided to follow my heart and shift to a career in dog training, opening up Noble Beast Dog Training. I grew the company to what it is today – a dog training team of 27 people, offering dog training from Boulder to Castle Rock and Golden to East Aurora, we still serve over 1000 dogs per month!

What initially inspired us to open iV Nutrition of Wash Park, was Terrill being diagnosed with thyroid cancer in December of 2021. During his recovery, he started iV nutritional therapy and found that not only did it help with his energy and hydration, it also improved his healing time relative to tissue repair. The immunity support was extremely helpful, given he was immunocompromised. We had not heard of anything like it, prior to it being recommended by one of Terrill’s doctors. There was a higher level of professionalism and care with this company. Soon after, we signed on the dotted line with the franchise in hopes to help and support other people!

With more and more IV bars opening up in Denver, can you tell us what sets you apart from the rest?

What are some common misconceptions about iv treatments and how can we switch the narrative?

Myth: iV treatments are only for medical emergencies or the seriously ill.

Although iV Nutritional Therapy are used in medical emergencies, such as severe dehydration or shock, and is widely used by people with chronic illnesses, they can be beneficial for anyone who wants to set their body up for success with a variety of health goals such as simply boosting their health and wellness, losing weight, improving cognitive skills, reducing inflammation, support in healing after an injury or surgery, improved sleep, increased energy, an immunity boost, acne, and, of course, improve hydration or recover from a strenuous activity or hangover (to name a few).

Myth: iV treatments are painful and invasive.

While it is true that some people may experience mild discomfort or pain during the insertion of the IV needle, this is generally brief and can be minimized with proper technique and even numbing agents. iV treatments are generally painless and minimally invasive. The needle used for the insertion is small and typically causes minimal discomfort. In addition, IV treatments are usually quick and require little to no downtime.

Myth: iV treatments are not safe.

iV therapy is generally considered safe and well-tolerated. It is important to note that the risks of iV therapy are generally low and can be minimized by ensuring that the procedure is performed by a qualified healthcare professional who completes a thorough health screen prior to the services, the IV site is properly cleaned, and the patient is monitored for any signs of complications.

Myth: IV treatments are too expensive.

IV treatments may seem expensive, but they are a worthwhile investment in one’s health and well-being and can be cost-effective in the long run. They can help prevent chronic health conditions and promote overall wellness, which can save money on future healthcare costs. Some conditions, such as dehydration, can be quickly and effectively treated with IV therapy, which can prevent more serious complications and lead to faster recovery times. IV treatments improve energy levels, supporting quality sleep, reducing inflammation, and boosting immunity, helping us feel better, leading to a more active and healthier lifestyle and a higher quality of life. Specifically at iV Nutrition of Wash Park,  we’re highly competitive in price, we also have monthly specials, package deals and, of course, our free membership – creating significant savings for our clients.

Myth: iV treatments are unnecessary:

Some people may view this as a frivolous treatment, particularly if they are not experiencing any acute symptoms. Overall, it is important to approach iV therapy with an open mind and a willingness to learn about its potential benefits and limitations.

For anyone who might be squeamish about the process, can you tell us about your medical staff? Do you require any testing before injections?

Our staff are highly trained, educated, and certified medical professionals with a variety of back grounds in the medical field ranging from RN’s, Paramedics, and EMT’s. They all have years of experience with iV insertions. They’re compassionate and caring – and just overall great human beings. In addition to completing a Medical History Profile, one of our Clinic Directors will go over the profile with you to ensure we have a solid understanding of your current health status. From there, we have you do a urinalysis to ensure that your liver and kidneys are in good shape. If there are any concerns, we discuss those with you, as well as consult with our Medical Director to ensure that going forth with treatment is going to be safe and in your best interest. We are a team of people who truly believe that optimal health can have a significant positive impact on a person’s happiness.

Being new to the Wash Park area, we hope to become one of those businesses that feel like home to the community – whether you use our services or not. We want to support you and your business, your cause, your school through donations or sponsorships, provide a place to meet up and hold a gathering, perhaps a space to hold a class, or even a quick stop to grab some water for yourself and your pup on your way to walk the park. We would love to meet you and see how we can collaborate and make a difference in the community!
