First we want to ask, how are you? Are you managing? After our March issue hit doorsteps, we had several calls from neighbors thanking us for delivering a bit of normalcy in a time of such uncertainty. This response was beyond comforting and continues to be our inspiration as we move forward.

But let’s rewind back to February, when we started putting together this April issue. We were determined to give our content a heavy focus  on the environment. And honestly, it almost makes more sense now, than it did a few months ago, when we were young and naive.  We as a family have actually started learning how to live with less consumption. Paper towels? Who needs em? Infrequent grocery shopping, means more plant based meals. Staying inside these walls each and every day since March 16th, has meant less driving etc. You get the point, because you’re making the same changes. With that said, sustainable living and finding strength from supporting one another, is the tone of this issue.

We are living in a time where there are so many unknowns. Even by the time this hits your doorstep and you read this, we will be in a completely different place. At first, we let the fear of the unknown cloud our vision. But we are taking this day-by-day and finding the silver linings when they present themselves. Having quality family time has been a gift and seeing the community come together even in distance, has given us hope. It is clear that we are a community who cares for each other deeply, especially in a time of need.

In this slower pace, with forced social distance, we have realized how much we value human connection. And we take comfort in knowing that we are all in this together and that nothing will stop Spring from coming.

We wish you health, peace and love.

Your neighbors,

Sam & Shaleen DeStefano
