Happy New Year! We’re kicking off the first month of 2023 with the brilliant, mixed media art of Wash Park’s very own, Meg Miller. To put it simply, Meg is a woman to know. Bold, colorful collage is just one of her many talents, she also happens to be one of the kindest humans we’ve had the pleasure of meeting.

Our front feature is dedicated to reacquainting you with one of our favorite small businesses, Rogala Design and Gallery. Amy Rogala is one of the brave souls who opened a brick and mortar after the pandemic. The walls of her boutique are lined with beautiful art, and her floors support one-of-a-kind furniture and rare finds from around the world.

We’ve said it before, but we have to stress this again; together we must support small, local businesses now more than ever. If you feel like Denver is losing its character with old mainstays vanishing, like the Saucy Noodle and Bonnie Brae Tavern, I hope you will consider supporting the local businesses of our community, year-round, as they rely on all of us to thrive.

Above all, our wish for you in 2023 is to pause, to connect with the present and explore the future with an open mind and heart.

Shaleen and Sam DeStefano
