Fall is here, hear the yell

Back to school, ring the bell

Brand new shoes, walking blues

Climb the fence, books and pens

I can tell that we are going to be friends

– Jack White

It can often feel as though few things in life are reliable. But Fall brings with it routine and the reminder that it’s the little, seemingly insignificant moments, that can bring light and joy. Like walking to the familiar neighborhood school with the big blue doors, apples falling from the trees and the promise and hope that come with a new school year. It’s this feeling of promise that gives a sense of a fresh start, an opportunity for renewal. Who says we have to wait until January to make improvements? That rule is tired, and we’re here for growth and learning all year round. This is the overall feeling that September brings, making it one of our favorite months of the year. With this in mind we have a few new friends to introduce you to in this issue. Meet Maris, owner and curator of Wash Park children’s boutique Broomtail, Marissa Napoletano, renowned Denver artist on our cover and center spread and finally, neighbor, Bridget Federico, founder of Larks Preschool. Get to know them and support these local legends.
