It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.”

– Ernest Hemingway

We are beside ourselves with grief for the Bounds family. This tragic accident was too close to home and has left us with a keen awareness of happenings outside of our car windows, just as much as we are aware of what happens around us on our family bike rides. We have every hope that our city becomes more aware of the rapidly growing population of cyclists and in turn takes the necessary steps to make it safe for cyclists and pedestrians alike.
