It has been a hard year, and don’t worry, we’re not about to bore you with all of the things that went wrong. That talk is tired and by now you’ve heard it all. Instead, we want to close out 2020 simply with gratitude and admiration for the community we love.

Being a small business that supports small businesses, we’ve had to swim in different directions to stay relevant and continue greeting you at your doorsteps each month. But it is with the veil of darkness in a challenging time, that we found light and goodness in people. You have gone out of your way to call us directly, or check in via email, which means more than you will ever know.

As we enter our fifth year, this connection with all of you has only become stronger. With that said,  thank you for continuing to support and read local. We love you for that.

In this issue we feature the stunning photography of JC Buck. His vision emphasizes the beauty in isolation. His work offers depth within minimalistic subjects. Which seems so fitting for right now.

We also introduce you to both the Dark Rose Club, a new neighbor on Old South Gaylord Street, as well as Vonnie Wheeler, a Denver native and neighbor who has lived in Wash Park since 1972. Inside is a story for everyone.

Cheers to a New Year!

Your neighbors,

Sam & Shaleen DeStefano
