MARCH 3

– Cheesman Park

To kick-off 2018 Shadhika will be hosting a Festival of Color celebration. In honor of International Women’s Week and to bring awareness of the at-risk young women we serve in India, Shadhika will be hosting a Holi Festival in Denver, CO. Holi is the Hindu festival of colors and love, that signifies the victory of good over evil and the arrival of Spring. It is celebrated in early March every year and involves the throwing of colorful powder on friends and strangers alike. The colors each symbolize something different: red for love and fertility, blue for the Hindu god Krishna, yellow for the important spice turmeric, and green for spring and new beginnings. The day will be filled with exciting activities from live music, vendors, carnival games, and four powder throws. Our Holi event will have a festival atmosphere that embraces the Hindu festival of colors and love. Come celebrate women around the world with us! Tickets are now available for purchase prior to the event. All ticket sales will be donated to Shadhika and invested in providing education, empowerment and economic self-sufficiency to young women in India. 12 – 4pm.
