Nothing screams summer more than old school popsicles or bright glass bottles of cold Jarritos. But we never thought to put them together before, and the results were deeeelish. Founded in Mexico in 1950 by Don Francisco “El Güero” Hill, Jarritos became iconic for its bold fruit flavors, natural sugar, and colorful bottles. Fun fact: the very first Jarritos flavor was actually coffee before the brand pivoted into the fruit-forward flavors we all know and love today. The name “Jarritos” translates to “little jugs,” inspired by the clay vessels traditionally used in Mexico to keep agua fresca cool.

Our personal favorite is the Watermelon flavor and this is what we used here. But honestly, there are endless popsicle options; grapefruit and lime, tamarind and chile, strawberry basil, mango lime…you get the idea.

These popsicles are ridiculously easy, wildly refreshing, and feel like something you’d eat barefoot in the backyard while your friend insists this is “the hottest day of the year” for the fifth time this month.

What You’ll Need

1 small bunch fresh mint leaves, finely chopped

1 cup blended watermelon

1–2 bottles Watermelon Jarritos

Popsicle molds

Tajin for sprinkling

How To Make Them

Mix the chopped mint and blended watermelon together, then pour in the Watermelon Jarritos. Fill your molds, freeze until solid, and try not to open the freezer every hour to “check on them.”

That’s it. No complicated steps, beyond waiting.

The mint gives these pops a super fresh finish while the fizzy watermelon soda turns into the kind of nostalgic frozen treat that somehow tastes even better with a little sprinkle of Tajin. And if these are for adults only, feel free to spike yours with a splash of tequila.
