THRU AUGUST 31 – Nkollectiv

NKollectiv presents “VAST,” an art exhibition inspired by the stillness and scale of wide-open landscapes. Artist and gallerist Nicole Korbe will showcase her oil and cold wax landscapes alongside Melody Epperson’s encaustic monotypes combined with inks she handmade from plants foraged from the Colorado plains. The art in the show seeks to ground the viewer in the vastness of prairie and other landscapes, evoking a sense of quiet hope. Walking the prairies of Colorado gives Epperson a deep sense of how expansive this landscape truly is. “My artwork in Vast is inspired by my weekly visits to these wide-open spaces,” She explains, “Each piece highlights the subtle details of native plants and the presence they hold within the fields.” Born in the west, the high desert of New Mexico was Korbe’s childhood playground. Her work for “Vast” channels the feeling that I ascribe to a variety of landscapes, going beyond prairie and desert to also include ocean and sky.”  The show is on view at 3485 S. Broadway during regular gallery hours.
