September for many is the end of Summer, even though autumn doesn’t officially begin until the 22nd. So for those of you unpacking your flannels and counting down the days until Starbucks starts pouring Pumpkin Spice Lattes, just settle down. Let us give Summer the proper send off it deserves. Here is what we will miss about you dear Summer time…

The loud call of cicadas, porch dinners that last long into the night, lemonade stands, outdoor music festivals, canoeing in the lake, walking everywhere in bare feet, fresh strawberries from local growers and running through the fountains at the museum. What we will absolutely, without question, refuse to give up even in the coldest of temps . . . grilling outside and long walks through Wash Park.

Don’t get us wrong, we will be digging out our Halloween decor two minutes into the first of October. It’s not lost on us that Colorado spoils us with four dynamite seasons, and we appreciate each month to the very last drop. So thank you sweet state for another great summer and we can’t wait to see what you will bring us this Autumn.

Your neighbors, Sam and Shaleen DeStefano

P.S. Once this baby hits your doorstep, you will have under three months to get your holiday shopping done.
